I saw some artwork and absolutely fell in love with the idea, but not the price. I also wanted the colors to be slightly different. Eitan has requested a blue room after our major home renovation and I decided to start with a throw (similar here). I know that sounds odd, but I figured I could match everything to it, such as paint for the walls and the artwork!
The decision to make this art myself actually led to the purchase of our Cricut and I am in love. Every project is so much more fun (albeit more work) now that I have the capabilities of this machine. I think the larger problem is actually storage. It is currently in the cabinets over our desk which is great since it is hidden but it is a huge pain to get out! I’m hoping to have a better setup in our future 3rd bedroom.
I used the Cricut to make the gold foil lettering and then ordered professional grade watercolor and brush to paint the sunrise and sunset. I’m definitely not an artist but it was really nice to attempt this using the right tools. I think it came out pretty well too!
