I typically choose a children’s book to inspire our Purim costumes. Last year, I chose “A Tale of Five Balloons” which is a well-known Israeli book. We included my parents to get to five people, and we all wore black. I made balloon/hat headbands. So easy!

Similar to my children’s michloach manot, I try to only give things that eventually “go away”. This year, it was chocolates, a custom pencil, and soap. I know – horror of horrors – I didn’t include hamantashen! I decided to make my life easier. Don’t worry, though, I made them for our family.

Note that the box I used to hold everything was from the same pattern that I used for Eitan’s mishloach manot. I just changed the leaf to be a balloon using some software my husband gave me (what a romantic!)
